Transforming humanity to be a better version of themselves
An annual event this is a unique gathering of thinkers, writers, academicians, spiritual teachers, policy makers, commentators, public intellectuals and people from many walks of life and religious dispensations coming together in a spirit of peace and reconciliation.
As part of its continuing series on awakening and awareness was this Conference on ‘The Concept of Kārya and Akārya in Indian Philosophy.’ Kārya is a potential (imperative) participle word form in Sanskrit language and refers to duties or actions that ought to be done and akārya the contrary that is the actions that are not to be done at all.
An annual event, every year the lecture is based on contemporary issues and areas from which humankind is facing challenges or has to find new points of view to understand the societal drifts and dilemmas. The lecture was delivered by Prof CT Indra and the theme was 'Some contemporary debates in the media concerning Indian Civilizational Legacy'.
The overall theme is Justice for Peace.
Peace emanates from behaviour. That which adheres to the principles of dharma, empathy and the overarching feeling of oneness. Violence which may sound like the opposite of peace is also a form of behaviour. A bhavam and in some cases the chosen way of living for some. Where does this violence begin? Possibly in the word, in the tatvam and in the pressures of living and that pervasive and fetishist feeling of me and mine. The lenses of oneness have given way to the piercing glares of difference and domination. In such a world how can knowledge help us? What are those strands that will help us reconcile, become aware and start rebuilding our penchant for peace and justice? How do we revive that kindred spirit starting with the transformation of the individual?
This is the larger import of the Conference.
Tentative Schedule : December 2023. Call for Papers is now announced.
